Enlighten the Nano Universe to Drive a Sustainable World
World-class R&D and innovation ecosystem centered on the 3GeV high-brilliance synchrotron radiation facility "NanoTerasu."
* NanoTerasu is constructed and operated by a public-private-regional partnership with the mission of "advancement of science and technology", "strengthening international competitiveness of industry-academia", and "accelerating the formation of a research complex".
The public-private-regional partnership consists of Miyagi Prefecture, the City of Sendai, Tohoku University, the Tohoku Economic Federation, the Photon Science Innovation Center (PhoSIC: representing the private/regional sector), and the National Institutes for Quantum Science and Technology (QST: representing the national government).
Equipment
Visualization: Beamlines
A "giant microscope" with a light source a billion times brighter than sunlight reveals structures at the nano level.
Services
Innovation Ecosystem
We provide a space for "co-creation" to tackle challenges that cannot be solved alone through partnerships.
